What do I do if my bin is broken?
In the event that your kerbside bin is damaged in the process of being collected, please contact Wagga Wagga City Council on 1300 292 442 to arrange for the repair or replacement of the bin.
Can I get assistance placing my bins out?
If you have difficulty placing your bin out for collection each week due to health or physical limitations please contact Wagga Wagga City Council on 1300 292 442 to discuss options for assistance.
Why was my bin rejected?
There are a few reasons why your bin may not have been collected. It may have been due to:
- bin material being jammed
- bin not facing the kerb
- bin placed under an overhanging tree
- bin contained liquids or hazardous waste
- bin was overfull and/or has been filled in such a way that spillage would occur during normal collection operations
- bin was too heavy to lift - 60kg for general waste, 80kg for recycling and green waste
- bin was significantly contaminated with incorrect waste items
A sticker will be placed on your bin in the event that it is rejected to assist residents identify the reason why the bin was not emptied.

How much do I pay for my waste service?
Urban Residential Domestic Waste Management Service Charge - $315 per year
Applicable to all developed residential properties in the waste collection service areas of Wagga Wagga, Gumly Gumly and Forest Hill, Tarcutta, Mangoplah, North Wagga, Oura and Ladysmith.
Rural Residential Domestic Waste Management Service Charge - $315 per year
To be applied to all properties utilising a waste collection service managed by Council, but outside Council's defined waste collection service areas.
Multi Unit Developments (Non Strata) - Residential - $315 per year
For the purposes of the Revenue and Pricing Policy the definition of Multi-Unit developments (Non Strata) involves the development of twenty or more residential units on a site at a higher density than general housing development.
Domestic Waste Management Charge - $32 per year
To be applied to all developed and undeveloped residential properties in rural areas including, Lake Albert and Springvale, that do not receive a Council managed kerbside collection.
Vacant Land Waste Management Service Charge - $32 per year
To be applied to each parcel of undeveloped rateable land within the waste collection service areas of Wagga Wagga, Gumly Gumly, Forest Hill, Tarcutta Mangoplah, North Wagga, Oura and Ladysmith.
How much is a replacement or additional bin?
Replacement for missing/stolen general waste 120L - $47.00
Replacement for missing/stolen 240L recycling - $60
Replacement for missing/stolen 240L green waste - $60
Additional domestic bin service fee - $105 per bin per year
